clinical placement topics in introduction to midwifery practice, and maternal and infant assessment skills.
Second year

Second year

A typical second year may include:
core topics in maternal and infant nutrition, evidence for midwifery practice, clinical pharmacology and clinical sciences, and applied pharmacology for midwives
clinical placement topics in midwifery skills and midwifery care for the woman with complex needs
Third year

A typical third year may include:
core topics in working in communities, midwifery care for the woman with complex needs, and professional midwifery practice
clinical placement topics in midwifery care for the neonate with complex needs, women's health for midwives, and a midwifery practicum
